	WHAT IS INFOMAP? InfoMap is a web-based mapping application that provides decision support tools for economic development. The interactive tool allows decision-makers from anywhere in the world to view, manipulate and print maps and attribute information for the 10-county region of Upstate South Carolina.
Users can run detailed searches of an industrial properties database, create custom demographic reports, and manipulate maps of the region. Map layers include available industrial properties, existing industries, county and municipality boundaries, census features, water bodies, transportation features, topographic data, and traffic counts.
InfoMap was created by the SC Appalachian Council of Governments (ACOG) as an extension of services provided through InfoMentum, a decision support system which aids regional marketing and industrial recruitment.
Funded by a grant from the Economic Development Authority, ACOG worked closely with programmers from Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) to create a unique mapping application based on Arc Internet Map Server (ArcIMS) technology.
Each InfoMap site reflects the unique graphic design of the host agency, focusing on the economic development assets of the county or region.
